Imagine you are an eighty five year old widow, still healthy and vital, and you have been living in the same house..three bedrooms, attic, garage, basement and home-office... for over fifty years. You are about to move into a studio apartment. Your children live out of state and your friends cannot help you. Where do you even start?

You call New England Organizing!

This is what New England Organizing excels at and why we are the area’s most respected Senior Transitions service provider.

Simply put, we help our clients select what they are going to take with them; we pack it, arrange and supervise the move, unpack and arrange the new home...clothes in the closets, artwork on the walls, bed made and TV and computers hooked up... often all on the same day, so that the clients first impression when they step through the door is that they are surrounded by comfortable and familiar things. They feel like they have come home.

Once the choice of what to take has been made we then turn our attention to what has been left behind. We arrange for appraisal, sale, storage or disposal of the balance of personal property. We pack and ship any promised items to friends and family and we then prepare the existing home for sale or rental. We arrange the discontinuation of utilities and facilitate the transfer of phone and cable services.

Oftentimes the move is not entirely the client’s choice. There may be health or memory issues that have led to somebody else making the decision that a relative can no longer manage at home. The client may be resistant to any assistance and even hostile to family members.

At New England Organizing we understand that the transition to an assisted living facility, nursing home or retirement community is not always easy emotionally for our clients. Sometimes they need to grieve for the life and home they are leaving behind. There are stories that need to be told one last time, photos to be looked at and trinkets to be admired.

Our compassionate and experienced team members are there to ease fears and tension. Over the years we have been witness to many emotions; excitement, anticipation, hope, but we have also seen loss, confusion, sometimes even anger. We offer a lot of comfort and support and we act as a buffer between the client and family members at a time when feelings can be hurt and people are feeling particularly vulnerable.

The team members at New England Organizing are skilled professionals who never fail to show the utmost respect and understanding to our clients, no matter what.

New England Organizing has been proudly assisting the residents of The Bertram House in Swampscott MA  and of Brooksby Village in Peabody MA since 2006.
